Effectiveness
When Lybrel is taken regularly, without missing any days, studies have shown the failure rate to be approximately 1-2% per year, which is in line with other oral contraceptives. For women who occasionally miss pills the failure rate rises to 5% per year, but the rate rises for each additional missed pill.
